Who is The K9PT Academy and why start the K9Rehab Marketing Platform?
The K9PT Academy is a business coaching program hosted by Dr. Francisco Maia of TheK9PT Canine Rehabilitation and Wellness in Chicago, IL. He started The K9PT Academy as a way to mentor other Canine Rehabilitation Therapists who are opening their own clinics, starting their own businesses or are looking to educate themselves on how to do either. Some of the focuses of this coaching program are learning how much to charge per session and when to raise your rates, the most effective way to do outreach and calls, how to market your canine rehabilitation business, referral strategies and more! Dr. Francisco Maia, PT, DPT, CCRT
I'm the owner and founder of TheK9PT - Canine Rehabilitation and Wellness, a fast growing canine rehabilitation clinic in the Chicago area. I also work as a social media and online content consultant for the Canine Rehabilitation Institute, and am a co-instructor for their Business of Canine Rehabilitation course. I have a passion not only to help dogs, but also to help canine therapists grow the field of animal rehabilitation, which led me to starting my flagship program, TheK9PT Academy, in January of 2019. To date my program has already helped 40+ canine therapists start and grow their canine rehabilitation practice. I also serve as the President of the Animal Physical Therapy SIG withing the American Physical Therapy Association.
Born and raised in Brazil, Francisco moved to the United States in 2005. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Exercise Science from IUPUI in 2009,
with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from The University of Pittsburgh in 2012. After working in orthopedics and sports medicine rehabilitation, he decided to combine his knowledge in Physical Therapy with his passion for animals. In 2015, he finished his certification in canine rehabilitation at the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. In 2017, he founded TheK9PT - Canine Rehabilitation and Wellness, which first started as a mobile business but now is a fast growing canine rehabilitation clinic in the Chicago area. He also works as a consultant for the Canine Rehabilitation Institute and is a co-instructor for their Business of Canine Rehabilitation course.
He has a passion not only to help dogs, but also to help canine rehabilitation therapists start and grow their businesses, which led to him starting
TheK9PT Academy. To date, that program has already helped 50+ canine therapists, including physical therapists and veterinarians, start or grow their canine rehabilitation practice. He currently also serves as the President of the Animal Physical Therapy SIG within the American Physical Therapy Association.
